Children and parents need help with communication, coping skills, and emotional support. We, as parents, will begin to feel like failures when we have tried to do "everything" to help our children. Sometimes the best advice is to step away from the situation and see your family issues for what they are - emotional and mental health issues. If you, the parent, become ill don't you eventually seek medical help when you continue to struggle to become well?
We will be adding a list of support agencies, along with contact numbers. Hope For Families believes once a family recognizes they need help - help should be made available. This page will provide our recommendations of where families can find resources.
All children engage in disruptive and disorderly behaviors at one time or another. Hope For Families will assist in discovering how to be proactive in preventing these behaviorial mishaps. It is easier to prevent a problem behavior than to change it once the child has learned it. But if your child has learned some undesirable behaviors, we can help you reverse the process.
We will teach you a strategy of several behavior management tools which stresses interaction between you and your child, and possibly with teachers, peers, and significant others. These simple tools will help reshape your parenting style, which will reshape your child's behavior.
Creating a detailed picture of what could be your family life creates a feeling of hope, and finding answers to "why" your child is acting the way he or she is gives you strength. You are not alone...when you allow a team leader to help you set your family goals.
